GW BULLYING AGAIN German Newssite Gamestrust

Gamesworkshop is at it again. They send Gamestrust http://www.gamestrust.de/  a site that leaked WD images a nice email.
Read for youreself:

GamesTrust responed like this.

Here a quick translation:
"We are not part of youre companie and youre companie rules dont applie to us.
We are a independed site beloning to the press.
We are located in germany and fall under German law.
German law gives us the copyright to the picture we toke of youre Product.
Then they make a example on how takeing a photograp of the monalisa gives them the right to the picture taken, while the rights to the painting still remain with the Artist.
Then they take about free press right and that they are not obliged to take down any pictures or stop posting them in the future."

GW reaction to the email remains to be seen.
Gamestrust made a pretty good case and i hope they keep posting leaks.
Its a shame reporting about GW products get News & Fan sites into trouble still.

What you think of this?

    1. IMO the real question is WHY?
What do they gain by killing off one more site?
People will leak WD pics on other site or Facebook.
And even if they totaly locked down all leaks. No one would buy a WD that releases on the same day preorders with 360° pics go up.
IMO this is a internal problem and GW should check their own staff that is leaking the pics & stop that. Instead of policeing the internet!

    2. Oh, i leak enough stuff by myself^^

GW should just preview their stuff like FW/BL does ... but even than, leaks are not a bad thing ... they are free advertising >.>

    3. Chapterhouse studios rings a bell....because that is the predominant reason/logic behind this sort of thing. also look at it like this if you made something but did not release it and your competitor releases something that is near identical first then you lose out on money.....if you release first then your company gets the hype and the consumers. it's that simple. people like Atia while helpful and many in the community are appreciative however they are potentially taking money from GW and giving it to X competitor instead with similar product. or more to the point the "early" peek at something either A) boosts sales or B) declines sales. GW is worried about option B). but are able to enforce option A) by removing what option B) provides. aka the removal or non acceptance and or compliance of non related websites providing illicit unreleased material which is GW sole exclusive rights holder to release first.

    4. I guess if GW just gave a Preview pic of next weeks releases/preorders they could get rid of all the leaks caus people could just link their site.

    5. totally agree J S S. if GW gave more than a slight bit more than the near nothing they currently give us to look forward to...then yes it'd both directly benefit consumers and GW. if it was sub based and sent to emails or whatever then it might also sort out the "chapterhouses" out there as well so it'd be a triple whammy in the right direction. or as i like to call it a win-win-win situation.

  3. if it's my personal opinion i think it is BS but corporate law is above my pay grade so i accept what is to be. also i appreciate "news" cough cough "leaks" but it's outside everyone but GW's hands to decide what is best for their company.
